Lido Finance
Overview
Lido Finance is a liquid staking platform that allows users to stake assets like Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon while maintaining liquidity. When a user stakes ETH through Lido, they receive stETH, a token that represents their staked ETH and accrues staking rewards.
Liquidity Benefits
This token can be used in other DeFi protocols for lending, trading, or as collateral, providing flexibility that traditional staking lacks. Lido is the largest liquid staking provider for Ethereum, handling a significant portion of all staked ETH.
Fees and Governance
The platform charges a fee (usually 10% of staking rewards) and operates through a set of professional node operators. Lido is governed by the LDO token.
Risks
Users can stake any amount of ETH without running their own node. Risks include slashing of node operators and smart contract vulnerabilities, though Lido has a strong security record.
